This major will engage you in an exciting exploration of the relationship between garment and the body. It embraces all aspects of body adornment, the cultural significance of dress, and the prominence of fashion in the media.
In this major, you’ll be provided with a theoretical and contextual framework to understand national and international trends and the cultural significance and practice of fashion design. You’ll be encouraged to develop your own innovative approach to fashion while you learn the principles of design and creative practice. You’ll develop strong skills in research, analysis, production and visual communication that will prepare you for a range of career opportunities within the fashion industry.
You will be given access to the latest design and production technologies which will give you a competitive edge to success in this dynamic industry.
Fashion is offered as part of the Bachelor of Arts. You can enhance your studies with a secondary major or choose from a range of elective units to support your career goals.
